The Main Laboratory is responsible for several functions of testing within the business and the technician would assist in any of these tasks as required. Some works as part of the Lab team that is managed by the laboratory supervisor. The laboratory team works within the Quality Department and is responsible for:
*To ensure accuracy, completeness and the recording of all tests
*Closure of all tasks within pre-agreed time frames and have an awareness of urgency.
*Daily testing of production samples (1st offs / last offs) as required and updating documentation.
*Quality and production requests for lab work - logging and arranging tests
*Update plans and results documentation as required
*New product introduction (NPI) - Involvement in product development by sample testing and report writing.
*Senior technician annual testing of product to the 11B (European PPE Directive) requirements.
*Mentoring of other personnel in training within the area as required
*Skilled in the use of approved problem-solving techniques. (8D)
To be a successful applicant you will need the following:
*Experience of working in a laboratory - methodical mindset, measured approach to data accuracy.
*Being able to communicate test results effectively to others
*Ability to work on your own initiative with little supervision but equally, to be part of a valuable and close team.
*Understanding of office software systems - comfortable maintaining and using data and databases
*Prioritising of tasks and effective time organization to maximise your value.
*Experience of quality /process/ product audits.
*Competence in basic maths
