A market leading, global organisation, who specialise in providing security software applications and secure personal devices are looking for a Application Support Analyst to join their growing Fareham team.

The role:
*Systems Engineer is required to assist with development, testing and maintenance of software solutions within a Smart Card Personalisation Centre. Key to the role will be validation and verification of interfaces received predominantly from the central development team and integration of the interfaces with the Personalisation Centre systems.
*The Systems Engineer will work closely with Software Developers and provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for BAU system issues. In this respect some programming ability would be an advantage, as would knowledge of SQL. The System Engineer will take a broad view of the system and its inter-related parts of which core components, for example, comprise a proprietry data processing platform, Oracle database, Card personalisation machines, Cryptographic Key Management Servers and card personalisation software.
*As part of integration, the Systems Engineer will be required to write automation tasks. Also, there will be opportunities to undertake other development tasks and an understanding of the global software Development Process will be developed.
*A technical and practical understanding of other IT systems, such as Windows operating systems, networks, databases, etc. would also be an advantage.

The person:
*The role will report to the UK Software Development team manager.
*Ability to read/write basic/medium SQL queries.
*Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle.
*Good interpersonal skills are required, as System Engineers will work with people from a number of inter-related departments with roles from operator to manager. Good communication skills are required to articulate technical issues in a friendly, patient manner for internal and central development teams and for Project Managers.
*Keep accounts, passwords and PIN codes private. Sharing of login details is strictly prohibited.
*Antivirus and Malware protection must be running at all times.
*Classify and protect data (Encrypt when necessary).
*Unapproved or black listed software must not be installed and/or used.
*Do not attempt to bypass any security mechanism.
*Stay up-to-date with security training.
*Only use authorised services to store business data.
